MAVERICK ANDREW MITTON
Since the baby is about to make his appearance (hopefully within the next week), I thought it would be nice to dedicate a post to the man whose fault it is that my belly is a size of a basketball, my bank account is borderline above negative, and im still living in paradise...

I got this idea from Samantha Taylor's blog coz i know that when the baby is here im sure a lot of my post will be about him more than anything else.
So here goes...

I met the handsome chap shown above at Brigham Young University of Hawaii on September 14, 2007. We were "officially" dating from the beginning of October but broke up sometime in November. Then after Christmas break I came back to my senses and we got back together.
All throughout the times that we have been together he has made many sacrifices just so that he can give me what I want which sometimes isnt always what I need. When we were dating, I was thoroughly impressed with all the help that he was willing to give me anytime that I needed it wherever it may be. Ive always had trouble trying to manage my time and I usually take on more responsibilities that I can handle. So the first semester that we were dating, I was an executive director for BYUHSA, captain of the Seasiders Spiritdance team, held a calling for the church, working 19 hours a week at the McKay Auditorium and taking 16 credits at school, he would be there eager to assist me from painting and hanging up banners to reading my endless papers.
When our relationship got a little more serious (and started to think about "bigger and better" things), he bought his first beloved car. For $400 he got a 1986 Jeep Cherokee that he named Samson.
Samson served as his trusted car, storage, closet and most importantly, his house for 4 months. Every summer break I go back to NZ for 2 months so I can catch up with my family and friends. And since "bigger and better" things were in our midst, he wanted to come to NZ that year to meet my family and ultimately ask them something. Hence the $400 car/house. So he can save up his money for the ticket to NZ (and I guess a ring) instead of paying rent. It wasnt such a big deal for me back then because it seemed pretty normal, but the more that I think about it, the more I realize that it was not normal at all! Especially if you saw him sleeping with the top of his head poking out of the open passenger door and his foot on the other side. Too bad I never took a picture of it...
He also suffered through 2 weeks of intense "family time" where us, my parents, my aunt and uncle and their 3 children went on a caravan trip from the bottom of the south island all the way to the top and back to Auckland.
We had a tonne of fun but im sure you can imagine how intimidating it wouldve been, yet he survived that too.
We got engaged in Wailoaloa Beach, Nadi, Fiji on our way back to Hawaii on the 23rd of August 2008.
And got married in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple on the 18th of December 2008.
And had a ring ceremony/reception 6 months later in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand on the 4th July 2009.
The sacrifices that he makes for me is still on going. Just recently he discontinued taking classes for Spring and Fall 2009 semesters so that he can work full time and save up for the baby. He worked at Kualoa Ranch as a japanese tour guide which he HATED! but stuck to it coz it was necessary.

Some days he would also go straight to the Polynesian Cultural Center right after Kualoa to work in his old job at Photo Polynesia. Then there was also a time when he had a third job with me at the auditorium. For the days that he worked all 3 jobs his day would go Kualoa from 5am - 3pm, PCC from 4pm - 7pm, and auditorium from 7:30pm - 11:00pm. I know, CRAZY!!!!
So I know its just the beginning. There are more sacrifices and surprises in store for us and we are excited for whatever we may get. I am just so grateful that I have my Maverick to share it all with. I really wouldnt know what to do with life if he isnt walking beside me every step of the way. Im grateful that despite all my grumpiness, every whine, every annoying trait, complaints and bossiness, he is still my ever loving husband...and will be for time and all eternity...
All these memories and MANY more to come...
But for now, the waiting still continues for the next chapter of our lives...
39 weeks and STILL counting...
Hoping and wishing that TODAY will be THE DAY!!!! Come out soon baby...

Waiting...waiting...waiting...
So i guess im not due yet so i shouldnt be complaining (im only full term...due date is on the 27th)...but i dont want this baby to grown more and more inside...I want to see him already and nourish him from outside the belly instead!
Im measuring 39 weeks already (2 weeks ahead of what i actually am) and have started to dilate so I guess it is on its way. Im bouncing on my birthing ball, walking everyday and climbing stairs soooooo im trying to get things rolling.
So everyone pray for labour to come SOON!!!
Although my mum thinks that the baby is waiting for her to get to Hawaii...she arrives nighttime on the 22nd...so maybe she will get her wish and the baby will come after we pick her up from the airport...at least I hope so...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
...ow stretch marks...
finally got em at 35 weeks...and i thought i was going to get away with the whole pregnancy without getting one...ow wells!
This girl that used to go to BYUH said at church one day that she was complaining to her husband about all the scar-like stretch marks that she was getting from her expanding belly...then her husband told her that she was not the only one that got scars...Jesus suffered for all of our sins and got scars from it...
Such a great way of looking at it...might not look very nice but it is all worth it...a little price to pay for a wonderful blessing...
2 more weeks till im full term! 2 more weeks and I can evict this baby...i just hope he cooperates and would want to get out sooner rather than later....

525,600 minutes and counting...
18th of December marked our one year of marriage! This time last year, we were at freezing cold Utah getting sealed for time and all eternity...the year has pretty much gone by so fast...like everyone always says...and it has been an AMAZING year full of fun memories, great time and more importantly, numerous blessings!

We woke up the next day and enjoyed the God's creation again over muffins and apple juice for breakfast.
And we found this little lady inside our tent...it was chillin with us the whole night
This is where we docked...same dock that Lost submarine goes into

Mav had Kalua pork quesadilla and I had a carne asada. its not really a mexican food restaurant but we just ended up ordering mexican food. hehehe.

To celebrate, we decided to go big!!! but as poor students, funds are VERY low...so we had to be creative...
Here's what we got up to...
We exchanged presents on the 17th nighttime coz Maverick can never wait. One year anniversary 'motif' thing is paper so we wanted to do something with paper...Mav got me a funny board game called Smart A** and a 2010 planner...and I got him a Dallas Cowboys tie (nothing to do with paper but oh wells), a Hawaiian marriage prayer poster and made him this poster.

The 18th morning was graduation for Fall sem so we went to campus to take some pictures for my work...We werent in any hurry to leave the house so we just took our time to get ready for our actual celebration...which is CAMPING!!!
I know my parents are going freak that I went camping in the woods when im 8 months pregnant but it was an opportunity that i just couldnt past. As Kualoa Ranch employees, they have a privilege to camp at designated area on the ranch. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!
So we set up our tent, Maverick built a fire (we forgot to bring a lighter so he summoned Kap's spirit from the Samoan village and started a fire using coconut husk and the little car lighter), roasted marshmallows, had huli-huli chicken and sparkling apple cider for dinner, and frolicked with no one else but us two and nature! When the Ranch closed at 4pm the whole 4,000 acres was left to us two (and the many animals that live there, including a lot of wild boars).
We only stayed for a night since my belly would probably be complaining more than it did if we stayed longer. We got a perfect weather for the whole night. No rain and nice and breezy! It was a great night to remember.
Then Kualoa Ranch employee benefits kick in again and we got to on the movie set tour and the ocean voyage tour for FREE!!! (normally it would cost $105 per person). It was my first time on it so I had a lot of fun...Maverick go on these tours every single day for the past 8 months so he wasnt as excited as I was...Ill let the photos do the talking...
Inside our tour bus Inside a bunker used for a lot of movies like Pearl Harbour
Where Adam Sandler tried to get Drew's attention numerous times...and Drew beat up Rob Schnider here too

The airport that Owen Wilson landed on
Our tour bus
These 4 photos were taken the day before the tour. It was raining during our actual tour so we didnt get a chance to hop off the bus...good thing Mav took me here before we went camping.
This is Hurley's golf coarse...there are lots of other Lost sites around the ranch.
Jurassic Park footprints...they use to be 10ft deep.
After a long tiring day, we headed back home to clean up and take a little rest. I was super super tired so I had a nice long nap. To end the celebration, we took advantage of ANOTHER thing from Kualoa Ranch which was a $50 dinner voucher for Sheraton Hotel. Maverick got it from their Christmas party about a week ago...so we had dinner at Sheraton Waikiki at a fancy shmancy restaurant called Rum Fire.
Food was GREAT! we just wish we had more of it...since its a fancy touristy restaurant, the serving sizes where teeny! Were not complaining though since we only paid $10 for a 3 course meal.
Mav had Kalua pork quesadilla and I had a carne asada. its not really a mexican food restaurant but we just ended up ordering mexican food. hehehe.
For dessert Mav had a red velvet cake with strawberry sauce (the menu said MINT coated red velvet cake with strawberry sauce...all the mint were those leaves that hes holding...we laughed!) and I had a chocolate haupia pie with mango sauce and chocolate coated peanuts
Maverick didnt get anywhere near full with the food from Rum Fire so we walked our way down the Waikiki strip to Burger King and got him a meal. hehehe.
Then we had a time to waste so we just chillaxed in busy Waikiki before heading home and calling it a night.
525,600 minutes down, eternity to go! I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!!
